Absolutely gorgeous Ryan!

How's it sounding so far? Did you get the power cable issue straightened out?

Sounds like Tyson and Pez loved the Vapor room. I'm sure things are still getting dialed in so high high praise for the first day!

The bookmatched piece of veneer in the lower section looks like Iron Man.

Now that I've got you seeing that, you'll never unsee it.

Lookin' good Ryan.

What are the finishes?
Base color -
Side veneer-
Front color or finish -

I think they are really sharp!

There is a "V" under his face so maybe it's Vapor Man?  :D   Seriously, great looking speakers!

Yeah - I saw that. Very promising.  :thumb:

I think the Vapors will do very well in that room (a bit bigger than the Newport Show)  :peek:

Just wondering what Vapor Audio thinks - they know how good the speaker can sound - how close to max (or better) of their experienced performance are they achieving at the show? FIRMLY believe they will sound better each day as the kinks get worked out (most do - what scares me is the Rooms that fail to do so or actually get worse  :shake:)

It's a walnut burl with a bit of honey brown dye and many coats of urethane clear, buffed to a mirror gloss.  The painted portions are Sepang brown, a Mercedes color I believe, also buffed to a mirror gloss.

Ryan and I both saw a skeleton of an alien ape, rib cage and all.  No matter what you might see in that Rorschach pattern, it really is cool.  Definitely among the nicest finishes I've ever seen on any speaker.

I'd say that book matched pattern should be officially dubbed "The shroud of St. Louis". BEAUTIFUL!!!!

The Vapor Joule Black is easily among the best real world, full range loudspeakers I have ever heard.  Really, really impressed, and whenever I achieve full employment again, Vapor is going to be hearing from me for an order.
It is just really rare to hear a speaker which punches all the typical audiophile buttons (details, dynamics, imaging, etc), but has enough warmth and body to sound like real music, even on less than perfect recordings.  "Big" enough sound to scale the peaks of large scale dynamic music, but subtle and evocative enough to impress at least as well with more intimate fare... This is a speaker to settle down with for the long haul, and do a lot of listening to music and forgetting about the system.
Anyone heading to RMAF tomorrow should allocate some time to spend with these speakers, you will not be sorry.

Barrows, I am particularly buoyed by your comments as I have followed posts from you since your PS Audio days and have come to respect your ear.

I am one of those brave individuals that took the plunge on Joule without ever having heard them.  It wasn't an uneducated guess, however, and after a lot of research and several phone calls to Pete Schumacher, it just felt right... and still does.  Worst case scenario, I reasoned, I would modify my system around them in confidence I could achieve something I could live with for a long time.  Furthermore, the custom nature of Vapor and absence of a middle man is quite attractive compared to the monotonous and heavily marked up high end speakers elsewhere.

Needless to say, I am further pleased with my decision on your words.  :thumb:

Ryan

Edit: I wasn't clear above - my Joule are in the process of being built, so still haven't heard them!.
