Connections for V2
« on: 29 Oct 2011, 07:48 pm »
Hello,
Need some help in trying to figure out how to hook up the V2 especially the woofers.
Here is what I understand:
Source --> PreAmp --> Amp --> Tweeter --> Woofer (Hi In)
Thanks

Two ways:

1) Source -> pre-amp -> amp -> V-2 speaker input
and Source -> pre-amp -> amp -> SA-1 speaker level input

So you basically come off of the speaker input at the V-2 and run jumpers over to the SA-1 amp, or Y the output from the amp with one pair of speaker cables going to the speakers and one pair going to the SA-1 amps.

2) Source -> pre-amp -> amp -> V-2 speaker input
and Source -> pre-amp -> SA-1 using low level input (RCA's).

Thanks Danny.

I realized that I had two outputs on the preamp so here is what I did, which seems to be working.

Source --> pre-amp --> amp --> v2 speaker input
Source --> pre-amp --> y-splitter for left right --> SA1 amp --> rca (left/right) input

and the sound is wow :bowdown:

How does one go about level matching the tweeter and woofer portion?

Ok, I have a Mic now what do I do with it?  Any recommendation on software tools to use?  Will REW work?

I set my crossover to where about 90Hz would be on the dial. Set the phase to 180 degrees out. Then set gain as needed or wanted. I like to find a balanced sound and use several known references to check for the right level.
