My AKSA stuff plus other misadventures
Top view of the AKSA 100watt Nirvana Plus. Try and ignore the rats nest within. Aesthetic wiring was never my strong point. Suffice to say that once the lid is on it sounds very sweet...
Front view shows a Jarrah fascia (recovered from a park woodpile in Margaret River, Western Australia). You will also note the trendy blue LEDs - not my fault, they came with it!! The fascia is finished using Organoil 'Hard Burnishing Oil' and Organoil
Rear view showing soon to be discarded binding posts. The case is the bespoke AKSA DIY version for the 100w amp - laser cut steel and black powdercoat. I discarded the basic aluminium fascia for something a little more aesthetic. Interconnects are G-Snak
All the gear - AKSA amp, NAD CD player and Yamaha integrated plus an unassembled AKSA GK-1M pre-amp
Showing off the fancy woodwork of my GK-1M. For the interested, the case is made from laminated timber panels using Jarrah (the dark wood) and another unknown Eucalypt (sourced from a defunct picket fence at the office)
What a GK-1M looks like from above when you haven t sourced or manufactured a lid. That big black thing covers the transformers.
What it looks like from behind. Looks quite professional doesn't it? Should do - it's a prototype Swift chassis.
