I saw this concert tour at Comiskey Park in Chicago in '76. They were amazing to say the least!

Up next is Manfred's Masterpiece IMO. I was lucky enough to see them in the early 70's a few times. One time backing up Wisbone Ash, another backing up Uriah Heep (in which the Earth Band smoked them that evening) around '73? Although The Heep's finale with "July Morning" would give any person on the planet goose bumps if they were game.

I need to build me one of them dare time machines. I'm sure Mr. Jim Goulding would dig that??

Elton John
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

I have two copies of this on vinyl, neither of which is good.  The one I'm currently listening to is an original (I think) pressing that has been loved to death.  The other is a crappy import from 20 or so years ago, complete with pieces of paper embedded in the vinyl--basically unlistenable.  I haven't listened to either in probably 10 years.

So while I've been enjoying some of the remastered, re-releases on SACD (Tumbleweeed Connection, et al), I'm trying to decide if I like this enough want yet another copy of this album, and if so, on SACD or vinyl.

ACHiPo -

I followed EJ from start up to this album, then that was it, never cared for later stuff. I had the albums on cassette, and singles on 45s. All long gone.

In past year I bought 3 of the albums prior to this on vinyl, glad I did. I'd buy this again on vinyl if I saw it as well.

But that's just me.

Gene,
Thanks.  I enjoyed the listen.  Reviews are decidely mixed on the most recent releases.  The Speaker's Corner version and MFSL versions are supposedly best.  I'll keep looking.
