What's the deal Dave?  Did you work that thumb too much hitchhiking back & forth from RMAF?

Seriously though, our thoughts are w/ you & your family.  I hope you have a super quick recovery.

Keep fighting the good fight !

An update from ThumbBoy:  I am able to do the easy work - building cables and such.  I am only limited out in the shop building enclosures for BUSSes, the MacSandwich and other custom work that I have been doing.  In the short term the MPC/Mini Mac Mini power cables, the MPC Source OneTD (Tranquility Special Edition DAC) power cable (like what was used at RMAF) the MPC Source One (component) power cable and the Mongo RevB power cables are all available.  Because I am still needing to make a living and I can build cables, I am extending the SALE on the MPC/Mini and the MPC/Source OneTD.  They are available for $225.00 + $12.00 shipping (US only).  Consider the lower price being a trade-off for having to wait a couple of weeks for shipment.  Come and get 'em at the lower cost before they go up in price!

My limitations are in the shop end of the process.  Enclosures are out for right now.  I can work with my left hand pretty well, I guess that is part of the has-been drummer thing and I am working away slowly at getting cable orders out.  It is a bit frustrating that I can't work at full speed and I know that there are a couple of people that are waiting for enclosure parts and pieces.  I will get them out ASAP (thank you for your patience, Peter   :thumb:).

I greatly appreciate all of the well wishes that I have been receiving on and off of Audio Circle.  Hopefully this will all be resolved quickly and I can build those simple little boxes that are frustrating me right now.

You all bless me.

Be careful. Take it easy. Stay on top of anything that has you concerned medically. MRSA is nasty stuff.

All the best for a rapid recovery!

Having an update on your business side of things is nice for the potential waiting customer Dave but I was hoping for more of an update on the prognosis of the thumb from the Specialist visit myself. I hope it's an optimistic prognosis for the long term? I know 1st hand how these things can get outta hand and you end up in the hospital. I hope it won't come to that for you Dave,,, I've been there, done that. I learned the hard way on that front and ended up missing work anyways.  :duh:

Cheers,

OK, here is the deal.  I've been running around, getting all of my records together.  I had some at my friend/doctor Tony's office, some at the MD Urgent Care facility where I was seen last Sunday, on the phone with the hospital in Denver, talking to the PPO provider getting everything ready... you know, trying to do some of the legwork to facilitate all of this.  Result?  I'm still waiting to see the big dog specialist.  I have been seen, scanned, thumped and tweaked.  Still no real diagnosis or treatment schedule.  I'm just on a massive dose of doxycycline to mediate the infection while they are figuring out what to do.  My gut is in turmoil, my thumb hurts and I'm getting really grumpy wanting to get on with my life and business.  The last time it took months to get feeling better and I'm not getting any younger while this is going on.

The nurse at Infectuous Disease Specialists assured me that they expedite cellulitus and osteomyelitis (I have both) cases to "see the Doctor."  If this is expediting, I wouldn't want to have to wait.

There you have it.  I still have no idea when I can get the darned thumb spike cast off and leave it off.  I've got things to do, orders to fill and balls to throw with the grandchildren.

Do I sound frustrated?      :duh:

I can see why you didn't say anything positive Dave, I'm really sorry to hear this for ya. I would think time would be of the esssence in your situation yet you can't get the needed attention. Frustration would be a polite way of describing your plight in my eyes. :cuss:

Please keep us updated Dave,,, I wanta hear good news from ya soon!!!  8)

Hey man, you just stay pro-active.  Ask all the questions you can think to ask of the professionals to include when you can get started and on what treatment.  Most tunnels have exits.  You can help create your own light by just wanting to and being resilient.  Someday I'll tell you about all my surgeries.  Set your sights on getting thru this.  I had MRSA in my blood and in my wound.  It takes awhile.
