Disagree on both counts! In my experience, if you have a carpeted listening room and a revealling system, cable risers make a difference and are easily worth the money.

From my experience with a 6SN7 that cryogenics did, it's effective. 

What did you try the cryo treating on that made you think it was "bogus"?

I am on carpet and have a bevy of revealing speakers. Lifting my cables did nothing.

  Plus one on cryo. As an experiment we decided to cryo a pair of Lenehan audio Ribbon-tek copper ribbon cables and compare them to a non cryoed version.
   Blind tested and then A to B to A comparisons. The cryoed version was preferred by all. A fuller more open  presentation and less Hi Fi sound. Closer to real in direct comparison.
