Anyone know what would happen if I dropped in two rhythmic 15s into two mfw boxes with the 600 watt servo amp for 750 dollars????  Brian Ding are you out there.... Would it compare to two Turbo MFWs???

Mark Seaton and sandbaggers new driver and amp for all the failing amps of the old av123 subs

I have two, and brains ci subs and amps may be an option

I don't know too much about those but sounds like apples and oranges.

The servo controlled subs are all about accuracy and speed. So you get extreme resolution and a flat response down to 20Hz or less. They are not so much about bruit force or high SPL levels.

The big voice coil 15" servo subs will handle more power and will give you a higher level of accuracy than any other 15" woofers out there and do so in a fairly small sealed box.

But they still give up musical accuracy to the lighter weight 12" paper cone versions.

Seaton and sandbagger might be offering an awful lot of output capability for the money though. So big bang for the buck.

It just depends on what your looking for.

I also can't stress enough just how much of the quality of the sound has to do with how solid the box is regardless of type or brand. A really solid non-resonant box is a really big deal.

Danny,

Just want them to produce good sound for two channel and movies.  Out put is not really an issue, but tighter low end is.  They are currently a little boomy...   Which is understandable due to the cabinet and design.

Are you talking about subs that you already have and are they the Turbo MFW's?

No Danny, the old MFW driver, dead amps, and replaced them with a Triad A/B amp to take care of the issue of dead amps.  The drivers are run in series to take care of the low 3 ohm down point if I were to run them in parallel, kill my amp.  So, can I improve on what I have?  Maybe not. Maybe easier to just make boxes and put in Gr 12 servos?

The Turbos do not sound anything like what you currently have with the stock MFW.  They sound much much more like a nice tight sealed sub.  All the bloat/boom of the stock mfw is gone. They will not go lower than what you have now as the tuning point of the cabinet does not get changed(no room in the cabinet to change it either)

The old boxes were not real solidly made. You can line with with a layer of MDF and No Rez to help them out quite a bit.
