6CA7EH Vs. TS EL34B
« on: 5 May 2015, 12:15 pm »
I'm trying to decide between a quad of Electro Harmonix 6CA7 big bottles and Tung Sol EL34B. I understand these are fairly similar in their presentation and cost. Just wondering if anyone has experience with either.  These will be going in a Carvin TS-100 that has been modified for home audio use, and currently runs Tung Sol 12AX7's on the inputs and inverters.

Thanks,

Guitar amps are modeled to delivery hi distortion, this is what musicians like, they call it brightness or harmonics.
Under these conditions I would buy the cheaper valves available.
