I picked up one of his albums for the first time and like the sound.  What are the must have Montgomery albums that I should keep an eye out for?

I'd add So Much Guitar to Rocka-Ds list.

'Incredible' and Boss Guitar are my favorites.

Let me know when you want to talk about Emily Remler.

One of my faves is his duet with Milt Jackson, the vibes player - "Bags Meets Wes!".

Don't know what album tripped your trigger, but the Montgomery recordings issued by Riverside are more "traditional jazz". Some of the stuff from Verve and all the recordings I have from his A&M period are more lush "elevator music" with lots of strings and Beatles tunes.
"Bumpin" is a great example of the lush strings setting.

I've got Smokin' at the Half Note  and California Dreamin'.

I like both of them.   The California Dreamin' is a bit more "pop", but it has some nice tracks on it and Wes' guitar is just fine.

I picked up last years RSD release and really enjoy it. I've recently discovered Jimmy Smith and his collaboration with Wes will be my next purchase.

I'd suggest you not overlook this one.........

Appears Real Gone Jazz hasn't done a set on him yet, but when they do it will be a good way to optimize the $. So far have had no disappointments with their remastered box sets.

Correction: I'd have sworn they did have a set, and that I have it. Of course I can't find it, though I do have it ripped to HD. At the moment I don't find any listing at azon.  That said It should also be noted not all are happy with these 'remasters'. Jimmy and Wes sounds like "can't miss" stuff to me.
