Various speed test sites use different methods of measurement and you are comparing apples to oranges unless you you establish a standard. Also, use a wired connection and not wireless.
Just for shits and giggles check out your own delta between http://speedof.me/ and http://www.speedtest.net/

Larry

did the test on both same speed!,dont know what shit you're refering to?

I think I saw somewhere that the country with the fastest Internet connection
is South Korea with something like 200Kbps in all the homes, maybe someone can confirm that ?

You probably mean 200Mbps, as 200kbps would only be  .2Mbps .....

I remember dialing up on a 300 bps acoustic coupled modem into a company's` bulletin board with a DOS command line interface (there was no Internet).

Why I also remember when we used to have to walk 20 miles in the snow to return a shitty crappy book .....  ;)

Hi Steve,
The new trend is:
My bad,
I say: My mistake,
both are the same.
You are right, it's 200Mbps.
Maybe you made a mistake by saying you had to walk 20 miles to return a book,
how about walking 2 miles ????
Do you want to reconsider or make a new statement ?
Walking 20 miles would have taken you more than a day.  :D

Yes, I was just joking in the vein of "When we were young, we used to have to ....."

Actually that was supposedly something that the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, once did as well as walking 6 miles to return a 3-cent overcharge to a customer.

Mr. Georgopoulos,
the reason why I mentioned not to use the word '' Shit ''
it's because it gives a bad image to the new comers.
You have probably noticed lately (Few months) that there are lots of new AudioCircle members
and I am sure those members join this place because it look civilized.
Thanks for your apology and keep posting.

Guy 13
Who am I to sermon other AudioCircle members?
Only an AudioCircle that want this place to be enjoyable and much, much more....
Back to regular scheduling.  :thumb:

Speedtest.net sends me to a server that is located within 100mi of my house (13ms ping, 120Mbps DL), speedof.me sends me to a server that is 1000mi from my house (45ms ping, 68Mbps DL),
Quote from: speedof.me
Rather than selecting a location, the website calculates the quickest and most reliable server from 59 available servers,
Ok speedof.me, why would you send me that server then?

www.Fast.com (netflix) doesn't tell me any stats other than 120Mbps DL

http://www.bandwidthplace.com/ reports: 76ms ping, 6.52 Mbps DL, 6.10 UL.

www.testmy.net reports: 80Mbps (avg) and 130 Mbps (max) DL, and 5.5 Mbps UL.

3 cents was much money in those times, you would buy a bike, well a horse with it.

Comcast Internet installed today in downtown Houston. It's a bundle (2 TV boxes and Internet) for
$89 a year - for the first year.
