This one was built by us in 1992, before we started building our own chassis.  We bought new old stock Dyna Pat-5 sheet metal from Soundvalues back then after Dyna had folded.  Our original hybrid tube circuit board designs were done first to fit into the space available in the Pat-5 box with excellent results back then.

The unit in this e-bay adv. looks completely AVA stock and appears to be in really nice cosmetic condition.

Interesting, one question though. What are those binding post looking things to the left of the power outlets on the back of the unit?

Selling used equipment is tricky. The seller's BIN price is $750 when there are T7, T-8, and Ultra preamp on Audiogon going for $700 to $950, it's hard press to get this price unless the potential buyers don't check Agon. I am sure it's a good preamp, but in my opinion there are better deal to be had.

They are indeed binding posts. You hook the amp up to the input posts and connect up to two sets of speakers to the other two pairs and switch between them. The selector switch also selected the headphone output that was also driven from the power amp.

It is simply a high quality speaker switchbox built into the preamp chassis.  It has nothing at all to do with the actual preamplifier circuits.  It is a necessary connection to allow the power amp to drive the headphone output jack on the preamp.

They are good speakers, I saw a pair sold for $289 not too long ago, that makes the $600 starting bid seem too high.

Man that Super70 looks worst than described. Apparently reflections. That's why I use a large white roll of paper draped ove a table to shoot items I sell. Of coarse the 1000 watt mogul flood lamps help too. :D As for the price I'd be amazed if it would come near that as an auction. 8)
