400R Heat generation or not.

Does the Fet Valve 400R (due to its tubes) generate a lot of heat in use? I'm thinking about going in this direction but might have to put it inside the cabinet rather than on top since its height of 7 inches will probably block too much of the video screen.

I have my FET Valve in a cabinet, and open the doors while running it. They generate some heat, so the heat needs a way to dissipate by convection. Vent holes below and above the amp could work, depending on your configuration.

The 400R does not use hot running power tubes so it runs much cooler than an all vacuum tube amp.  The amp has one 12AT7 small signal tube per channel.  The amp runs no hotter than typical 200 watt per channel amps.

It does require some ventilation so leave cabinet doors open when using it.  In normal operation it will not get hot, but in sustained very high power use the heat sinks will throw off lots if heat.
