AFAIK, all Danny's N-series kits use the PDR but, "his" NEO3 PDR's came with the deep back cup, I don't know if there is a source for these ?
Rich is correct, the  PDR  without faceplate or  rear cup will work in the NX-Ottica but  one of the  custom Serenity pairs will be required for the  NX-Tremes

Jay's right. I designed the kit using a custom Neo tweeter and the standard pdr version so that either can be used. The crossovers are only slightly different for the two.

Finally spent a little time yesterday getting the baffles glued up on one of these.

The DuraTex on the sides turned out with a semi leather look.

Now to get the braces in and get the next one together.

Best,

Danny, that's one unit's design that I would like to listen to...
Yes, I know, I only have to buy a pair from you.

They look nice, will look nicer with the drivers installed.

Drivers are all installed and wired. Now it is time to cut and install some No Rez.

Man, those copper phase plugs? set in that copper baffle look awesome.

Can't wait to own my very own pair of NX-Tremes or NX-Oticas paired with OB servo towers.

Great job, Danny.

Lining them with No Rez was easier than I thought.

I was worried that the curved side panels would be tough to cover, but it was no problem. I held it up there with the backer still on then used a sharpie to mark the curved area to be removed. The jig saw went right through it. It even sands reasonably well.

I wish I had done my no rez  like that.... the corner scared me... I cut mine off at the bottom of the radius so there is   bare area above  the no rez. I doubt there is nay resonense  isse, yours just looks p"prettier"

I love the way the back of the speaker disappears and all you see is the copper baffle, very nice.

This is a little different. It is just the MTM section of the NX-Otica.  The cabinets are unfinished. I mounted the drivers so I can test a pair of NX-Otica crossovers I'm building for a fellow AC'er when I get them done.

The wires are there to make it easy to hook to the networks with alligator clips.

Mike
Mike,
Any progress on the MTM's?

Thanks,
Ed

Danny, those may be copper finish, but they're gold standard. :thumb:

It's great to see the different takes on the NX-Otticas -- every one a gem!

Ed,

Yes and no.  I listened to them off and on while the networks I built for another AC member were burning in some.  I sent the networks to him yesterday. Once I get the MTM's packed up I'll send them to Danny to check out and see if any tweaking is needed compared to the full size cabinets.
