Abilene is home to an air force base and therefore lots of retired military. LP's come in to the local store that were picked up around the world in the 50's. It occurred to me that this was still an era before western tv and radio had much impact on local music, and I'm interested in musical culture. Just picked it up on a whim... been doing a lot of that lately.

I haven't seen him either, but I heard he has a really great show. He has a lot of interaction with the audience from what I've read and tells funny stories between songs. I'd like to see him if he comes through Houston. My next concert is John Hiatt at the House of Blues in early December. I can't wait! I've been a fan since "Slow Turning" and I've never seen him live.
