My Schiit Mani is kinda noisey, an alternative under $500?

So I basically bought the Mani based on the reviews and after a few listens, I think it is kinda noisey.  What else is there under $500?
I have been looking at the Vincent Audio Pho 8, thinking that the separate power supply might mean less noise.
Anyone familiar with it?

Are you sure it's the Mani responsible for the noise?  If I remember correctly there were considerations about interconnects and a ground wire.  Even arm height can affect noise.  I'm just saying it might be something else?

I haven't had any noise issues with mine.  Great sound too.
Is it a constant hum, or does it vary with the music?

And I'd agree with OrientalExpress on Audio Vista if you want to try a different phono stage.

I added a ground wire and that issue was fixed immediately.  This is more of an analog hiss

Another rec for the excellent Vista, which I previously owned.

Recently auditioned my buddy's Parks Budgie in my rig.  That unit is absolutely superb, at a giveaway price.  Big tone, excellent transparency and presence.   :thumb:

The Mani is noisy only if your power is noisy, that was my experience with it. The Vista or Lounge stages will be quieter even with noisy power, but it the long run you'd be better off fixing your power issues.

Here's a Clearaudio Basic+.  I've tried quite a few phono stages around the $1k price point, and this one blew them all out of the water.  You might be able to get him down to $500, if so, you can't go wrong.

I have the MANI as well. I don't notice any more noise out of it than does my Rotel. There is an upgrade power supply from Swagman Lab that is not a wall wart and has a 2A output as opposed to the 500ma of the wall wart supplied with the MANI. I have ordered one for mine and as they seem to build to order, I'm told mid June for delivery.

Search "Upgrade Audiophile Linear Power Supply for Schiit Audio MANI phono pre 16VAC Out" on fleabay.

I really like the sound from the MANI and a noticeable improvement (even from my wife's standpoint) over the Rotel as far as fullness of the sound and separation.

I'm not trying to sell anything, just my opinion and suggestion.

I have read on other forums that the improved power supply on the MANI makes it even better. I'm no audiophile for sure, just a casual user, but the MANI sounds great with my QL-Y66A and a AT440Mlb cart.
Thanks
