Leonel wanted a pair of Veracity ST's in walnut.  But not just any walnut.  He wanted claro walnut.

We found a nice batch and this was the result...

I should note that the photos were taken with black plinths.  The actual plinths in Leonel's case were done in the same claro walnut.

That's gorgeous! Congrats Leonel! I recently built a Bottlehead Eros and replaced the supplied base with one made from claro or crotch walnut. Be nice to have some matching speakers....

Claro loosely means color. A type of walnut that comes out of mostly California. I work with it all the time. A lot of competition gunstocks are made from it because of it's incredible grain and colors. Crotch wood on the other hand can come from any tree and describes the grain formations from the crotch of a tree.
