Both integrated tube input/ss output, former 70W, latter 140W.
Anyone A-B them on a good system? Performance below 130 Hz unimportant.
Thanks all, have a great _____ ! (This is a test, fill in the blank)

Although I have not heard the Pathos, I have asked around and did some research on both of these amps. What people told me about the Pathos was pretty much inline with the review. So I ended up with a modded Unico in my shelf (not the SE). The 80 watts are more than enough to drive my Merlins TSM-MMs, and I don't even need a sub.

For what it's worth: listened extensively to both Pathos and Unico (older versions) in the same shop. Pathos looks better, but Unico sounds better (fuller, better bass). Granted, these were the older versions, but it was no contest.

Agree with your findings. The Unico has less of that HiFi sound. More natural tonality and organic feel. The Pathos in comparison was more detailed and thin in sound.
Depending on your speakers character the choice is easy. Not familiar with the Merlins though. Choose the amp with the opposite character of the speaker.
