HI All,

As I mentioned, Brian has decided to offer a few specials to celebrate his 30th Anniversary.

Here is one:

Many have been looking for a reasonably priced "Stand Mount" for their 2 channel system, or a group of 5 speakers for their 5.1 HT systems.

So B, has cooked up the 626 jr.

The 626 jr has the following:

* Spiral Ribbon Tweeter (dehorned)
* Standard Neopanel Midrange Driver
* 6.5" poly/mica woofer 20oz magnet 4 layer VC
* Piano Black Bud Baily Cabinet
* SR71 Cabinet Damping
* CDWG - Constant Directivity Wave Guide/180 degree dispersion
* Fully equalized polyprop x-over
* Power Handling 200W
* 8 Ohms, 90 dB/1W/1m

Normal price of this speaker would be $1598 + pr.

The anniversary special is $975 pr plus shipping.

This speaker can also be outfitted with the OXO as a stand for $499 pr

Optional 6.5" Woven carbon fiber 40oz 4 layer VC woofer add $200pr

For 5.1 HT we have the following:

5 626 jr's = $2399

The 6.5" Megawoofer (40oz magnet, 4 layer VC, 250W power handling) is offered on the 626 JR. as a $200pr upgrade for those desiring a more powerful bass and lower cutoff (37Hz vs. 42Hz -3dB).

Hey, it's a celebration.  Had to forego the concept of profit, but around here we laugh at the very idea, anyway.

Top picture shows one 626 Jr with the waveguide removed to show the poly woofer and dehorned tweeter.

That's a ridiculously good-looking deal.  My 626's, without the waveguides, cost more than that used!

Bravo!

The 626 Jr is the same size as the standard 626, 24H x 10 1/2W x 13 1/2D".  Weight is 43 pounds in the box.

I have had three calls (and one order) from those seeking to use the 626 Jrs to fill in their HT's.

3 of them (one for the center, and 2 surrounds) will flow nicely for those of you who have VMPS mains.

They can be ordered individually, and the CDWG works just fine in the horizontal orientation.

I suggest the Megawoofer upgrade ($200pr) for high power high output HT use.

B
Users can also employ the HT processor's high-pass filter to increase power handling & flatten the 70 Hz ceiling mode (set the subwoofer's high-pass pole below the mode).  What does the low-bass curve look like if the port is sealed for the same reasons?

That's the best VMPS deal ever or very close.  That would be fun to compare to anything up to about $5k.  The ancient original 626R slew the original Krell standmounts, estimated $9k/pr.

I am now informed the I&O burger may be divided into as many as 16 substantial segments.

Their 44oz Big Gooey cups feature free refills and, best of all, unlimited straws.

We will send out more invitations.
