how to remove phase plug lowther DX45

I guess all lowther phase plugs are the same but I have never removed one before. I have a pair of brass two piece phase plugs to try and cannot unscrew the phase plug by hand. anyone?

Thanks Tony, haven't been here for a while, I found a rubber glove helps to grip a slippery surface.
