What are some records you have purchases since '10' that were new production from modern artists?  I like your vintage selections and I'm curious if you buy new and if so what?

Most of my records are vintage and any of my new production records are of vintage performers. I don't have much past the 90's.

Chicago II

Not really working for me, at least not this pressing. Thin and shouty, bordering on screechy.

Get the Rhino remastered reissue. It is very good and the one to have.

I'm not sure Bill has much past the 80's  I tried to turn him on to The Decemberists, The New Pornographers, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, the Shins and he didn't bite.

So true Laura, I played The Alabama Shakes for him, and he looked like he'd bitten something sour.

For what you like you may want to check out

Alabama Shakes,
The earlier Black Keys albums
Gary Clark Jr.

Good stuff you list...  Some good stuff still happens now too.

Bill -

If you had a 'mop-top' you could have been the 5th Beatle.

Hi AD glad to you spinning some good stuff. Cathy and I are getting acquainted with our new friend Cody. A 5 month old black lab mix that arrived here this morning from Alabama.

It's only just cooled off enough to spend any time out here with the main system. Been way too hot for my taste, and this room holds the heat. Add tubes to that and it ain't fun. Doing a little comparo for rockad with the vinyl box set vs the Those Were The Days CD remasters. Will undoubtedly grab some other stuff as I shuffle paperwork.

Good to hear you have the pitter-patter of tiny paws around the house again. Just give him time to lose the southern drawl, be patient.  :thumb:
