I originally built this Audio Note Kits DAC as a 2.1B, but later upgraded it to a 3.1. A few weeks ago I installed Audio Note 1w Tantalum resistors and Jupiter HT(under the board) and Cerafine caps on the output board and have only put a few hours on it since then. When I asked Brian at ANK to send me a new faceplate to show off my new 3.1 status he sent me a 2.1C/Transformer Coupled faceplate - at no charge. XLR connector installed but not connected. Can easily upgraded to 4.1 level if one desires.
This does have a very good sounding USB input, but in my system I prefer the s/pdif input. Does not come with power cord.
