Robert, so, did you settle on speaker cables?  Did you get the 16 gauge cables from HD and try it out?  If so, what was your result????

For the really cheap among us, PM Sonny and ask for his DIY recipe for a better than Blue Jeans cable.  I like the ElectraCables IC, but they seldom come up for sale used.

Great suggestion Clark... :thumb:
I sent Robert a trial pair just yesterday...let's see how it works for him.

Speaker cables for under $10 if you catch it in the next 4 hours, if not he'll probably relist it:

Or... for under $20 you can step up to a star quad of 20 g mil spec silver plated copper teflon wire. Just buy 2 lengths of different colors and twist w/ a drill. Google star quad if you're not sure, it's very common geometry for scs. You can find it cheaper than what's in this auction, so look around a bit.

For ICs, DIY is far cheaper if you have the tools, soldering is usually involved and a lot of rca plugs can be a pita to solder to without a powerful iron. Switchcraft RCA connectors are very cheap and the best choice unless you can afford a pure copper RCA plug. They aren't cheap, which isn't very cheerful I guess...

A twisted pair of the 26 awg 6N copper here will work, $12 for a 1 meter pair of ICs:

Or you could rip off the anti cable geometry and use 20 g magnet wire coil for the ground and the Jupiter wire for the signal. That's even cheaper. For a $10 pair of ICs, I'd put my money on them over any common coax-type IC.

I still like these cables.  I have doubled up each run.
Little on the warm side.

I'd recommend them IF you can still find the same stuff. From reports I've read, Woods has used different manufacturers to make their product. I have a set and they are good. I use the mil spec 20g star quad now, but it's more different than better than the WLM cable.

I'm a big fan of Reality, but I'm anxiously awaiting a set of Sonny's cables. He's graciously supplying me a set in for payment of a DOA Adcom amp I sold him. I told him he didn't owe me anything, but being a great guy feels like he owes me for the shipping. Stand up dude, and I really appreciate it.  :thumb:

Hi there, they should be arriving today...remember I sent you a pair of a prototype using 22 guage silver plated copper, stranded... these should be almost as detailed as the mag wire ones and better midrange more laid back...let me know how they sound!

Thanks
