Since he's the OP too, my guess is the purpose of this thread was to tell this story, not to actually ask others their impression of Jolida's quality...

The mods were authorized by Jolida the company itself and my unit was still under warranty even after modding since it was "Authorized" Jolida knew ahead of time about the Mods and they did not give me any specific instructions as to who, what where to take the unit to.  After 3 times, and numerous complaints which were supposed to be handled correctly in the first place instead of running around.  The whole purpose about this thread is to make ppl aware of their customer service issues, I am not speaking badly about their products but their service and their ppl should know the correct way of handling things..

Chgolatin2, maybe I'm missing something... if you're so down on Jolida, why are you getting a JD10?

Duke, I am not downing Jolida, however I had a bad experience with their service.  I didn't go the FX series I just purchase  a Baby Sophia Electric..  Which is way better than the FX10 mated with a pair of B&W 602's and wow!  Magical

curious how much you paid.  you can get the same amp, w/a different label, for a lot less green.  i never owned a jolida, but i did own one of these.  amazing performance, especially for <$200 shipped, brand-new:

Not the best soldering in the world by a long shot. I'd be afraid to own one of these.

doublej, mine was dead-reliable, as was a buddy's who got one on my recommendation.  there are so few solder joints, one could always re-do them w/an iron in no time, if really concerned...

I paid $395 shipped, pre owned.  I dont know much about the product you are mentioning and I doubt that this item is from the same company, for $200? c'mon now?  You get what you paid for, but atleast it does looks nice.

Thanks

i researched these when they came out, and was told they were basically the same.  i never had the sophia, so i couldn't open it up and see.  but i'd love to see pics of the insides of yours.

re: getting what you pay for, i do know for sure that red rose music relabels korsun & aurum cantus gear and charges 5-10 times the price.

Did you compare the Jolida with the Sophia?

That is a beautiful piece regardless of the money. Equivalent of 10 days of gasoline, 2 nice dinners in the city, 5 bags of dog food, and less than half the price of a rear wing spoiler piece of painted plastic on a car.

I personally contacted the company, they are NOT the same they are not even manufactured in the same facility, yes its a nice piece but not the same even if it looks the same, really its not!

Sophia is manufactured by a different company, and they QC all of the products and even upgrade parts upon request.
