Carver is another brand.  We don't have it in our lab and we are not about to go buy one.  I know that's not what you mean :).
The amp comparison chart and various customers feedback validated that we can produce amps that sounded like solid state, tube, clear and neutral class D and anything in between. But trying to mimic a specific brand's sonic characteristic is not our objective.

You may have missed the historical joke there Jason... I believe DoubleJ was referring to the "Carver challenge" from the 80's. In a nutshell, Bob Carver made a bet with Stereophile that given some time and measuring equipment, he could make one of his amplifiers indistinguishable from any other.
