Visually the images show the DAC-10/DAC-10H as narrower than deep.

The website specifies the DAC-10/DAC-10H to be exactly the same width and depth.

Jason's above postings of the unit specifications above does not include dimensions (or weight).

Please clarify.

Not totally precise since I am measuring it in the stack, in my system, and mine sits on anti-vibration feet, but:

Little over 8.5" wide x 14" deep and about 2.5" or so high.

It appears the website and manual are misprints.

Standard component widths are 17", so this is considered 1/2 width.

Very similar in size to the Reference 9 chassis. (might be taller)

Sorry, the correct dimension:
Height:  59 mm (2.32")
Width:   215.4 mm (8.5")
Depth:   382.6 mm (15")

For fixed volume at 0 db for home theater by pass:
Press and hold both buttons 3 sec to activate/deactivate Theater-Mode.
During Theater-Mode volume adjustment is disabled. Volume is set at 0 db. Headphone outputs are also disabled.
This affects all input channels.

Perhaps a long shot but I have to ask: I recently sold a Slim Devices Transporter which I used together with Nuforce P8 preamp and 2 Nuforce Ref 9 V2 monoblocks an a pair of Mark &Daniel Maxiumus Monitor speakers.

I'm thinking about replacing the Transporter (and the Nuforce P8 preamp) with a DAC10 to get a "all in one preamp/DAC" and play music from my laptop. Just wondering if you think the Nuprime DAC10 is a better solution than the Transporter/Nuforce P8? Surely dac-technology must have evolved over the years but is the difference very smaill sonically?

I really like the thought of having a dac/preamp in one box.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Yes, it would make a very noticeable improvement.

Primarily, due to the "much better" DAC chipset, a better volume control, a superior Power Supply, DSD and high REZ capability, and less cables and compression connections.

Even the DAC-9 would be noticeably better.

All this is assuming that your room acoustics and hearing acuity would allow you to hear the differences.   :thumb:

Good morning and Happy Easter to all.
a question:
I do not find the value of the output impedance of the DAC-10 on RCA and XLR.
is really balanced?
of quele USB receiver is equipped?
thank you.

I have DAC-10H and Nuforce ref9 V3SE. Can I put dac in standby with amps on without damadge? There is no triger in in amps. Or should i leave dac on all the time?

That's fine, you can leave the DAC on and the amp off.
The recommendation for Ref 9V* amp is that the output should be connected when it is on.

giordy60, I meant the footers, circular chrome & rubber, are they part of the DAC-10, or aftermarket?
