« on: 14 Aug 2016, 06:21 pm »
Anybody out there who considers them Central Ohio and would like to get together and form some sort of ad-hoc group which can get together to discuss/share demonstrate  new and interesting gear AND music?

Looking forward to replies.

Apparently in all this time, there have been no replies. I can only surmise that folks in Central Ohio possess no interest in forming a group. Am not giving up on the notion, just this thread :(

Sorry   :duh:
I did not see this when it came out, probably cause I was flying half way around the would on that day and was very busy the week following.

I would be interested in a GTG, Columbus is just 45 min east of me so not a long travel per say.
I've seen a few other guys new to the area but mostly south of me, around Cinnci.

Let me know what you think and we'll put some ideas together.

There are some of us in or near Cleveland, but it's a 2 hour drive to Columbus.

Yeah, I know this has been rather dead for over a year. I'm in CBus and am looking for other audiophiles to listen and compare.

Yes, it has been over a year. I even tried running a hifi/audio meetup. Truth is that there are few if any active/vociferous audiophiles in the Central Ohio area who want to come out and play :), which is fine. Am focusing on my systems here and writing about gear. Having damaged my right hand recently due to a fall, am having an acquaintance help me out on Monday do the last bit of set up on my VPI turntable. I could do it myself with two good hands, but right now am just about at 1.25 hands and the fiddly bits require somewhat more dexterity.

Current setup here:

VPI Prime Scout with Soundsmith Zephyr cartridge
Pro-Ject RPM-1 Carbon with Sumiko Pearl cartridge
Rega RP1 with Rega cartridge
Denon DP-300F with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge
Parasound DT-90 linear tracking with Shure M97E cartridge

Parasound ZPhono phono stage
Mytek Brooklyn/Brooklyn +, exaSound e22, Exogal COMET DACs
Audio Physic Tempo, Mission 727, Platinum Audio Studio 1,  speakers
Parasound Halo 2.1, Bel Canto s300 i/u, McIntosh MAC1700, Tandberg 3030, Tandberg TR200 amplification
Nakamichi 500 tape deck

I'm back into audio after a bit of an absence. My setup is a bit smaller. I'd like to meet others to hear systems to learn more about the faults of mine, or maybe I don't as I'm very happy with the current setup.

Pro-Ject 2xperience SB DC with Sumiko Blackbird HO
Rogue Cronus Magnum II integrated amp
BlueSound Node 2 DAC/Streamer thingie
Spatial Audio M3S  speakers

One of the biggest issue I'm experiencing is electric. Living in the Short North in a building from the late 1800's. There is a lot more to the issue too.

Another central Ohio resident trickling in...  :D If there is renewed interest in a GTG or Meetup, I would be interested to know.

Also a Central Ohio resident on North side. I have another friend on Southeast side and we get together when time permits. I would be open meeting up once we are back visiting one another.
