I would like to know
(my dealer was not sure ,but thinks they are hollow based on the aluminum side rails of a cheaper model)
But I really would like to know for sure.
SO. anyone who owns 3.7 or 3.7i with the aluminum side rails..
Are those rails hollow? or solid?
Can you tell? (they may have end caps. If the do there would be a seam or a crevice)
Are the end rails solid or hollow?
Thanks

  • The poodle bites, the poodle chews it.
From Wendell:

The 3.7i alum. stiles are not hollow.

Oh OK. On another site someone posted a picture of what was supposed to be the Maggie 3.6 rail.. And it was hollow. I guess they had the wrong picture.

I thought over buying the 3.7i and since I already own the 3.6....
I decided 3.7i is too lateral. and plan on buying the 20.7

Even though I am in an apartment.

I was the one posting that picture. They are hollow but there is some kind of insert. My friend who have the speakers and who shot the picture, think it is MDF or something filling the hollow part. They are certainly not solid aluminium!

Yeah I would guess the word hollow means nothing in the middle vs solid meaning something there,  but not aluminum!
