Hi everyone,
This forum is way too quiet. Anything new and interesting going on?

Hi Steve,

Guilty as charged!  :)

While I was indeed quiet here, fun continues at Vista Audio: we are making Phono-1, working on a couple of custom designs and have recently started reorganization to free resources for introducing new products (Vista's and a couple of Serbian audio manufacturers') while continuing to provide timely support to all our customers, new and old.

The reorganization part is now in its finishing stage and I expect to announce more details and reactivate myself as a host in this circle within few short weeks!

Thank you for checking on us, and let's stay in touch!

Boris

Now that you mention the preamp.... my first preproduction unit still runs in my system. I just can't get myself to replace it with MkII.... I'm sentimentally attached to it, and it plays great, so no real need... But now I'm getting another T/T, so one MkII will find a new home there.... :)

Thanks for checking in, we are wrapping up our internal activities...

Hi Boris.
You might have seen my numerous posts about my misadventure with my
Bellari VP-129 tube phono stage.
I've tried every possible scenario to solve my interference and hum problem,
but a few days ago, I've thrown the towel, I gave up.
Too bad.
In my previous house it was running perfectly, no hum, no interference.
I love (Made in USA) tube stuff, but now I have to think differently.
My other problem is my extremely limited source of income,
which is now only my retirement fund.
In the past my wife business was doing good,
but now with the Vietnamese recession which don't seems to end,
I can only rely on my personal income.
(Please no pity for me, that's life!)
I went surfing on the Internet, I saw a few units prices between 50 USD to 150  USD
with good reviews,
but reviews for me is now as useless as pair of tits on a leghorn.
I don't want to be a cheap skate and invest 50 USD on a unit and find out that I am not happy with it,
that would be like throwing 50USD in the garbage.
The Vista unit at 299 USD is a good deal,
but for me 300 USD is a lot of money, believe me or not.
I was wondering if you will hold on to your special price of 299 USD until, let's say,
October, when I will get my reimbursement income check?
It's not even funny to be cash strapped like that, never really happen to me before.
I will order the Vista with the 120V wallwart,
because I have here 120V/50Hz from a Majik Buss line conditioning unit.
Sometimes I am hesitant about spending 300 USD on my turntable set up,
because I don't really listen that often to my LPs.
I just finish cleaning/washing all my 80 vinyl collection and 80% of them are 30 years old,
minds you, they were not played often...
Well that's it for now, I will get off your hair now.

Hi Guy,

I'm not sure if you meant to send this as a message (as we already exchanged few notes), but this is fine too. Yes, the times are tough and I just want to assure you that we do not have any plans to increase price of the Phono-1 MkII. It is a stable platform, we are happy with what it offers in its price range (and above) and are looking at improving internal efficiencies to counter inevitable increases in our costs so that we can keep the selling price stable.

Keep in touch, I enjoy your posts on AC!

Hi Boris.
Just wanted to create some activity on your topic
and at the same time ask you about price increase or not.
That's all.
So, thanks for your answer
and I will keep ready anything about your Vista Phono-1 MkII
I just want to make sure that my 299 USD spent,
will be a good and long term investment,
because I intent to keep it until I kick the bucket,
(That could happen in one day or in 30 years from now)
might even be a good idea to bring it with me in my grave.

Hi Guy,

While the price may not last 30 years, the preamplifier quite easily might  :)

I think I already wrote about my fascination about audio electronics from the old days, that worked on my bench even after many years of neglect in basements and sheds... That stays with me with every design I work on...

Let's revisit this topic in... say... 50 years... before we decide we want to hear harps and other heavenly music...  :thumb:

Let's stick around!

Hi Boris.
I don't know how old you are, but for me in 50 years from now,
I will be 6 feet under ground with zillions of red ants tickling my toes
or my ashes will be in a peanut butter jar on a garage shelve.

Hi Boris.
Sad, sad, sad...
I can I help you to cheer up?
Hum... I know, I can buy a Phono 1 from you, that should cheer you up, yes?

Nah, not really sad, just life... money is not a big factor in happiness, but when people tell me that they enjoy what I made... that's something entirely different :)

Family and contact with people (in person and via internet) is what keeps us ticking!

Cheers!

Are there any amplifiers in the pipeline?

Are there any amplifiers in the pipeline?

We are building few upgraded versions of my very first first model i82: SE amplifier with PCL82 tubes. SEPCL82: http://vista-audio.com/custom/custom.htm

Also working on some built-to order amplifiers, basically heavily upgraded i84 (PP, 2x15W, EL84). Not sure if we will release it to production, they are pretty expensive to make.

In the mean time we continue to distribute Trafomatic Audio http://www.trafomaticaudio.com/

And, we just finished evaluation and are adding a new products from Dayens:  http://www.dayens.rs/en_index.html

We take our time evaluating products that we want to add to our portfolio... not only sound quality, but construction, build quality, people we work with... after all, I put my name behind that too and we need to service the units if the quality is not where it needs to be :)
