Force sub problem - bad input pot?
« on: 13 Oct 2012, 06:42 pm »
So, I'm occasionally hearing an unusually prodigious amount of bass coming from one of my Force subs. Disconnecting the input and plugging it back in seems to fix the problem which usually only occurs after not using the system for awhile. I only use one of the regular line level inputs (not the Theater input).

Today I noticed that adjusting the input level control causes the bass to go to full output and wiggling the control a bit, or pushing in a bit, could cause this to come on and off. I'm tininking a bad input level pot.

Anyone else experience this? Could it just be a dirty pot (I hope)? I'm going to try spraying a big of CAIG contact cleaner in there to see if that fixes the problem. If not I'll have to contact Triad to see what a fix will cost.
