I'd recommend it too.  Just before I moved a bit over a year ago Costco was blowing them out for $98 or $99 and I bought a spare to keep (still in the box).  I use it for both the main and master bedroom systems.

How durable is this remote? I've broken 2 of the harmony one remotes from drops onto hardwood floors from a few feet. They are pricey enough that I probably won't be in the market again unless they are significantly more durable or cheaper to fix.

Welcome to the North Josh!  I have faced this frustration for decades.  Free trade my big white arse!

Ahem, the remotes are pretty good.  I have an 880 that I retired after 10 years.  I have a 650 (replaced the 880), and I had a 900 that I bought as a refurb.  It lasted about 1 year, but I had a 2 year replacement guarantee.  I now use one of their wifi remotes where the 900 failed.

I will continue to use them, I like them.

I've had the older version for 7 years. Works great. This is a great deal.

I have an the current one probably about a half dozen years, an older 880 (in a secondary system) I also got at Costco on closeout probably a year or so prior to that (the battery expanded when I moved a bit over a year ago so I got a new one and taped the battery door shut) and either a 650 or 700 (forget which) in another system.  When I saw Costco closing out the Harmony One for just under $100 about 16 months back, I just picked it up so I have one.  I had Phillips Pronto remotes before the Harmony remotes. The Harmony remotes are easy to set-up and at their price points I probably won't switch anytime soon.
