Fury- WOW what a surprise!

Just got finished watching "Fury" with Brad Pitt. WOW what a great war movie. Had a bit of "Saving Private Ryan" in it.

I agree 100%! Pitt is excellent in this film as is the rest of the tank crew.
Very graphic in nature but it needs to be.
Wow describes it best!

Great flick!  Superb cast, good acting and a beautifully filmed movie.

Hi,

I thought it was one of the best war movies I've seen in many years.

Glad I watched it, but not sure I liked it.

For some reason I just felt that it started a story but did not end it.

Perhaps that is by intent and is a comment on war.

After thinking for a bit, this was not a great, nor even a good movie from a critical standpoint. It borrowed a great deal from SPR. It was just blood, guts, glory, rudeness and war action. The movie just entertained the "guy" in me. It really was not a thinking person's film. But in fairness, I feel I need to watch movies like this one, every so often.

I enjoyed it as well. To me it illustrated what it really takes to win a war. Unlike today where thanks to politics, political correctness and hideous leadership, we can't seem to win anything.

I think it's more that WWII was the last really "linear" war with very clearly defined objectives.  As war moves away from being nation state vs nation state into what experts call "4thGen Warfare" it will increasingly difficult to define and harder to "win" in the ways we used to define the term.
