Hi KP,

afaik, Japanese pressings are from a copy of the mastertape.
I would recommend a UK Island ILPS 9126 pressing, either
on the pink Island "white i" label or on the pink rim label.
Both are from the same "mother".

Regards Toni

Very good to know Toni thanks. The japanese pressing will have to suffice for now. I have the original pressing as well but Side One is unplayable due to suspicious candle wax drippings and what looks like pizza sauce schmear ... Don't ask.

Are any of your Crimson from the Steven Wilson remaster?

Cheers,
KP

...  No  ...

The 3 Crimson records I've posted are:

1. In the Court of the Crimson King
MFSL 1-075 demo/promo from 1982.
Mastered by Stan Ricker from the (2nd generation) stereo master
on their "old" Ortofon cutting system.

2. In the Wake of Poseidon
UK Island ILPS 9127 repress on the pink rim label
with textured cover from 1970.

3. Lizard
UK Island ILPS 9141 original first press from 1970.

This has sayed with me since the original release.

When compiling a list of the best debut albums, one would have to include this. The interesting about Prine that I just learned is that when young Dylan arrived on the Greenwhich Village scene, Prine was already there.

Who is the lady?

That would be Ms. Bonnie Lynn Raitt and her eponymous debut album. I'm surprised you don't have this; she does a crackin' version of Stills' Bluebird. I'm a big fan of her first two albums.

When I was a very young teenager I had a major crush on my best friend Rich's older sister, Kathy, who was a freshman at Radcliffe. I talked him in to hitchhiking to see her and we crashed there sleeping on her dorm room floor. We went to hear music in the Radcliffe coffee house - the performer was another student who jst happened to play a mean slide ... it was Bonnie Raitt. Rich and I told a lot of lies about that trip and sleeping n the dorm but the Bonnie part is true.
