New GIK GridFusor

I see GIK has the new "GridFusor", ceiling grid diffusor posted on their site.

Price is $50 each (sold in boxes of four). 2' x 2', 5 1/2" deep. Looks like an interesting option for diffusion.  :thumb:

Would love to see more install photos as folks start to use them.

The previous diffusor (D1) was made from ABS.  What are the GridFusor's made from?

EPS like the RPG ones.

And yes a 13 root.

Can you easily fit 2 in a 2 x 4' grid?

Couldn't they be effectively used on walls too?

thanks

Yes they fit right in a 2'x4' just as well and mounting on the wall is pretty easy with 2 sided tape.

I should have asked about a ceiling too, while I was at it  :duh:

Is there a good method to flush-mount on a drywall ceiling? I don't have a sense as to weight and structural rigidity.

I have a single 242 hanging there now but wonder how these would sound instead. My room is really dead already.

Thanks again,

Mike

Nice.  Looks like a very economical alternative to Skylines.

2 sided tape will work for mounting on the ceiling.

Hi Glenn,

Your web site says "standard 4 x 4 grid opening..."

Don't you mean 2 x 4?

Has it been answered what kind of material the gridfusors are made from? Are there any better close up shots to show the texture of the material?

They are made from EPS.  While there is a slight visual texture to be seen, from a feel standpoint they're very smooth.  They are ready to paint whatever color you choose, if you choose and a coat of paint will basically cover any texture.

Are they one piece molded or are they glued together?

I would think if the gridfusor is an oil product you would have to us a primer if you were to use a latex paint, otherwise the latex won't adhere to well.
Bins123,Acryloc or a oil primer should do the trick
Nothing worse than not priming something and then you have to sand, sand, sand.
