most beautiful tuna ever?  certainly in the running . . . sometimes i think i sold the wrong one, if only for looks.  sonically the one I kept is only marginally better...
Buddy and Doug - thanks for the compliments on the tuner.  It's definitely a fine piece of equipment.  I had it gone over by Bill Ammons.  He recapped it, installed new filters, upgraded the audio op amps, and realigned it.  It's now a very good sounding unit - as good as any tuner I've had in my system and I've owned a lot of tuners.

yup, bill does great work.  i still have a heathkit aj1600 he did; it is amazing.  i can believe your tu9900 is special; even stock; they are really really nice sounding.  mine was first refurb'd by joseph chow and then modded further by mike williams - aka: punker-x of radio-x tuners.  it was mitey-fine, for sure.  i've owned a lot of tuna, also.  but i only have about 50 right now...

Dad (to himself) : "Now I just gotta find a place to put this POS (and four speakers) in this tiny little room.. Then maybe the wife will stop yelling about it being on the coffee table.."
Kid (to himself) "Eight tracks suck, Dad; you won't be able to get tapes for long and they always jam."
Dog (to himself) : "No wonder Mom went to stay at Aunt Edna's when she saw this thing."

I haven't, but I want to build a 7.1 setup based on those Patrician IV's. Wonder how much they bring used. Then gotta get the E-V 30-inch for a sub  :icon_twisted:

The Wilson Audio Modular Monitor (WAMM) was Wilson's initial loudspeaker product, introduced in 1982. From its inception, it was designed to be a statement product. Each channel comprised two towers, one a sub-bass module, the other featuring twin mid-bass drivers, an electrostatic supertweeter flanked by twin midrange/tweeter modules.

The sub blew it right off her foot, of course.
The biggest mystery is what the hell is in my wife's soup?  Maybe that lady's sock.
