I've got to second the nomination for Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense.

In the same vein, David Byrne recorded a live show in a church in England (can't recall the title - Maybe live from Union Chapel?). Well recorded, fantastic band with a string section.

John Fogarty - Premonition tour (not the new one).

Roy Orbison - Black and White Night. The band included Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello and many more big names.

They show Stevie in front of a Jazz Festival crowd, where they hated him.  SRV came out firing (as he always did), and the crowd was not ready for him.  They also show SRV's return a bunch of years later, when the crowd did like him.  It's also interesting to see him and the band that many years apart.

 It was late last night so here now is a brief review. Out all my rock DVD concerts and I have a lot, I must say this could be one of the best. The sight, the sound, and these 3 guys rip through 24 of their songs (over 2 hours long) with perfection. Neil is joined near the end by good brother Tim and if your are a Crowded house fan, this DVD is also very emotional knowing this is their last concert as Crowded House and the suicide a few years later of the superb drummer Paul Hester. This DVD will keep you on the edge of your seat rock in and singing away. A+++++++++++++

 The only thing I don't like about this and many other DVD concerts is the video editing. Editors seem to think that if they don't move the camera a lot or change quickly from shot to shot that we won't enjoy the video. I wish they would stop that bullshit and keep the camera/editing on the person who should be highlighted. That is one good thing about older concert videos. The editing is down to a minimum. They use to let the band/musician do the talking, not the editing work.
