Virtue two good choice for these speakers?
« on: 3 Feb 2010, 09:39 am »
Hey guys,

I am building these http://www.audioheuristics.org/projects_gallery/ER18DXT/ER18DXT.htm speakers and am wondering if the Virtue two would be a good choice? The source will be my PC soundcard it's a x-fi gamer xtreme.

I also have a sub with a 12" Titanic MK-III Driver http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-404&ctab=2#Tabs and powered by a 300 watt Bash Amp http://oaudio.com/300W_SUBAMP.html

I plan to build a 5.1 system in the future by adding two rears and a center channel and will need a 3 channel amp at that stage but right now it's just these 2 speakers and the sub.

Is the Virtue Two the best choice for what I want to do or should i get something else?

thanks a ton.

From the website:

Final system sensitivity is 84-85dB/2.83v.

That sensitivity is pretty normal, shouldn't be any problem driving the speakers.
If the sensitivity was really low then the Virtues wouldn't have enough power to drive the speakers and you really need a high power amp.
I had the Virtue Two hooked up to these speakers and the match was outstanding.
