B&O Bang & Olufson Stereo System
I was asked by some friends to check out this system.  They haven't used it in years.  It consists of a Master Control Panel 5500, Beomaster 5500 tuner/amp, Beocord 5500 cassette deck, and Beogram CD50.  According to the owners, the CD 50 doesn't work.  The cassette player might work.  This equipment was sold from 1986-1991.

I have attempted to get this system running but without a manual, it is an exercise in frustration.  Using a non B&O CD player, I get a quick blip of sound from the amp but then relays click and I think the amp turns itself off.  I tried using the tuner but have no idea how to select fm or find a station.  Truth is I can't even tell if it's turned on or not!

I don't think any of the equipment works but there seems to be a decent market for it as parts.  I do think the Master Control Panel 5500 does work and it sells for around $100.  I have the B&O cabling so that it can all be connected.

Anyone interested in this stuff?  Thanks for checking my ad out.  Kent 636-399-8053

SOLD  - Thanks Jim!

Up for sale since I am down-sizing my system are my Dynaudio Contour S3.4 speakers in Rosewood with black magnetic grills.

I purchased these in 2008 from Music For Pleasure, and they are in excellent condition. These Dyn's deliver a natural life-like sound due to their incredible balance.

Please note this sale is local pickup in Maryland Heights, MO. (63043) since I do not have the original boxes.  Will deliver within a reasonable distance.

Buyer is getting a hell of a deal on these. If local contact me to setup a demo.

Price: $2,100

PM me with any questions.  Thanks for looking.

F.S. Version #1 All DHT Stereo Type 45 Directly Coupled SET amp
« Reply #263 on: 8 Oct 2015, 03:12 am »

                              SOLD

Here it is the first version of my all DHT stereo type 45 amp...... If you've never heard an all Directly Heated Triode amp....
you are missing a real treat.. But even better this amp uses a Direct Coupled Type 45 output stage....ie. "no Coupling Caps"
just a piece of Solid Silver Wire connecting the input stage to the output stage.....

This is a test bed amp that has been modified over the last year to develop a completely new design. ..... The amp uses Grid Chokes on
the inputs, and an extensive array of Rk Bypass caps on each input and output tubes. ............ I know it's not pretty,
but even using inexpensive Hammond 126ESE output transformers this amp sounds Killer !!! ...

I will not Ship this amp. it will have to be pick up only  !!!....... I will sell it for $600.00
If you're interested and would to hear this amp..... give me a call at  314-727-7917  to arrange an audition !!

  Have fun
   Willie

       Too late !    It's Sold !

For sale: Image Audio 65i integrated tube amp. 50 watts per channel with KT88 output tubes (can also use 6550 outputs). This brand is no longer imported into the US, but they are very well built & conservatively rated, based on classic tube designs. I’ve had this amp for about 6 or 7 years. The current set of tubes have roughly 300 or 400 hours on them, and I just replaced a worn resistor in the output circuit and rebiased it, so it is good to go. I also have the original box. The price is $700. Below is a photo of this specific unit.

Contact Mitch though the forum.

AMP SOLD 11/11/2015.

Audio Note Dac 3.1 - 1995 SOLD SOLD SOLD
Moving out my amazing AN 3.1 dac.  Kit made by Digital Pete down in Naples.  Sounds extra good.  Asking 1995.  In as new condition.  Sounds as good as you'd expect from Audio Note.

Has two switchable digital inputs - I used a CDP and Squeezebox.  Ignore the balanced inputs, they're inoperable.

Questions?  Thanks -

HIS SHOP IS NOW CLOSED. DELETE THIS MESSAGE. Orchid Dell is a florist shop on 12123 St. Charles Rock Road 314-739-1545 just east of De Paul Hospital, just southeast of McKelvey on the north side of the street.  The owner is retiring after being in business for 30+ years and is selling everything, at very low prices.  My wife bought a small vase, two bud vases, and a cheap brass flower holder for a total of $8 + tax. I thought some of the members might be interested in some of the tables, shelves and display furniture.  Please note that the 5 really nice items, the marble topped displays and cabinets, have been sold.  Most of the display items have to stay in the shop until he stops selling flowers to the public which is March 31, 2016.  Everything else is first come, first serve, take it with you.  His hours are Monday - Friday 8:30-4:00 and Saturday 8:30 - 2:00.  Some of the larger workbenchs and shelving were built on site and will have to be partially disassembled to get up the stairs and out the door.  I'm sure he'll probably sell you those for less than the cost of the lumber to build them.  He is old and can't help you move anything heavy.  Message me with your e-mail if you want the 41 pictures I took of the store and the basement.  I have a Suburban and a 2-wheeled hand truck if you need any help moving bulky items.
Ken
I have no financial connection to Tom the owner, other than as a customer.

Excellent sounding Ming Da MC 2A3 tube linestage preamp with four inputs, two stereo outputs. This preamp is in great shape and is playing in our family room, with no surprises. Tubes include three 6DJ8s, three 6SN7s, one EL34 voltage regulator, and two 2A3s.

If you are looking for a solid preamp that delivers a wide soundtage with delightful tube imaging, this might be the preamp for you.

I have been sorting through the audio equipment and these items are ones that I can live without.  Maybe you can't.

Sorry for the lack of photos.  Lost my photo program "upgrading" to Windows 10 and haven't figured out what I need to do for a new one.

HiFi Tuning Classic Fuse, Large T 5 Amp--$10

HiFi Tuning Supreme Fuse, Large T 800 mAmp, new in box--$70

Insignia Speakers NS-B2111, 6.5 inch coaxial bookshelf speakers, like new in box--$60

Boston Acoustic CR-8 Bookshelf speakers, 6.5 inch woofer, walnut finish, well made, work great, very good condition--$90

Polk PSW10 powered sub, black, low hours, in box--$60  This sub would pair nicely with either pair of speakers.

Onkyo Integra Tuner model TUN 3.7.  This tuner has the HD/Sirius/XM board for receiving HD and satellite broadcasts.  With remote.  $75

Audio Institute VR-110S Tube Integrated Amp.  This is a Chinese EL-34 amp in very nice shape.  It has a new quad of matched JJ outputs tubes and a new quad of GE JAN NOS 5670 input tubes.  Mike M has gone over it and set the bias.  $500  With Pearl Tube Coolers, $550.

FREE KR 2A3 tube.

I am relocating to the PNW and am cleaning house.  I found some old KR 2A3's from my Fi amp.  2 boxes, 2 tubes each.  3 are marked 'dead'.  I believe the 4th tube to be working.  Free to anyone who comes and gets it.  I am near downtown Clayton.  Also, I am keeping the boxes - need them for shipping.

PM or email is best.

***** SORRY, SPOKEN FOR!!!  THANKS DAVE!!! *****
