Beautiful Butts

Doing some pork butts in the smoker, preparing for our retirement party tomorrow (Saturday).
Rubbed these up with my extra special rub and they are now resting comfortably on their racks.
Will update when they are done.. Tomorrow....Brisket!

Nice size butts, looks like your using a Masterbuilt smoker.

good call on the smoker.
This has worked really well for us.
Here is what they looked like coming out after 11 hours.
I usually set the smoker at 225 degrees and monitor meat temps. This had a stall at the 8 hour mark at 174 degrees for better than an hour but finally started back up.
Had to try it while shredding it and have to say it's pretty dang good! You would like it Hibuck! Will try it with some bourbon based sauce I did up, on a fresh, grilled pretzel roll.
I have a full brisket ready to go in about 4:00 a.m.. Should be a great party with some great meat!

Darn nice looking Pork. Wondering if you would be willing to share your rub or sauce recipe?  :D

I currently use Bad Byron's Butt Rub, and Blues Hog BBQ sauce for mine.

Hope you had a nice party.
