ACI "inventory" sell off
« on: 15 Sep 2014, 09:23 pm »
Hi all,

I have finally gotten around to cataloging and photographing most of what is left from ACI inventory. There is quite and assortment of drivers, accessories, cables, and even some unique electronics. I'm posting it here first. In my dream world, one of you would want the whole lot and be willing to drive to Western Wisconsin to pick it up at a great price, or meet me close to Western Wisconsin. Next best would be someone wanting it all and willing to pay to have it packed an shipped. However, I will sell and ship small groups of items for the right price etc. But no, I won't spend an hour packing something up for $10 that is going to cost $7 to ship. I'm not going to set a minimum order, but it has to be worth my time.  So here is the list, PM me with offers or questions. You can google for most of the specs. I'll individually list some of what I think might be the most interesting items first. Thanks!

EAM (Environmental Adapter Module) is a very precise room equalizer. These units had an original build cost of over $300 each and were hand assembled in the USA. MSRP was $1299. The cost of just the chassis and power supplies were well over $100 in quantity. You could use them to install your own custom electronics. I have 4 of these

DH Labs D75 Digital cable. This sold for $7/ft in bulk. I have a 1/2meter finished with RCA and a 45 foot section and 170 foot section. You could certainly make some money building up some custom cables.

I notice that the text descriptions of the switch positions do not match the drawings for examples 3,4 and 5 for the EAM unit instruction sheet.

Otherwise this looks like a pretty useful device.

Do you have spare analog boards remaining?  These and  a BOM  could be useful to do it yourselfers or perhaps even a link to the gerber files for it if you want to be generous.

Hi Frank! Sorry I missed your post till now. I don't have any other documentation on these otherwise I'd be happy to share. Yep, I think they could be a pretty useful device for very little money.

A few pricing notes, all prices plus shipping (negotiable) :

On the EAM (EQ).  I have four, they originally sold for $1299 msrp, build / parts cost was over $300 each. Will sell for $50 each OBO, or all four for $200 shipped in CON U.S.

On the DH Labs Digital cable, originally sold for $7 ft in bulk, $69 for 1/2 meter finished. Will sell the bulk lengths for $1.50 ft OBO, will sell the 1/2 meter for $30 including shipped in CON U.S.

On everything else, make me offers, thanks!

Mike....very long time.  It's great to hear from you....even though you've turned to the dark side in San Diego.     (Encinitas?  Escondido?  La Jolla -ho ho?)  I couldn't wait to get out of there and into Oregon.

Damn, Mike.  I bought so many great drivers from you back in the day, it killed me when you went clear and found sanity!  You were a mainstay back in the day along with Pat Snyder at SpeakerLab were gurus to many of us now geezers.

I still use Pat's cascaded crossover topology to get very low distortion tweeter networks. Brilliant!

You guys were instrumental in the establishment of the DIY genre and geezers like me are forever beholden.  Thank you and God Bless.  :thumb:

Is cascaded crossover technology a fancy phrase for series crossover?
