cartridge for well tempered reference
« on: 17 Sep 2014, 04:23 am »
Hello frends, I wish to upgrade my MM to a MC, I've read good things about the zyx r100-02, is the compliance suitable?, or maybe other thoughts on the subject?

I find myself very well with the Dynavector Dv20X2 (H) - connected to the MM (the cost is similar).
Nothing pre-pre or step-up, guarantee a short path of the signal.
Coupling with the turntable WTAmadeus is ... perfect!

Thanks Friends
My phono stage, is JTLI, design and made in Swizerland,"by "vacume state eltronics" design by Allen Wright, who is no longer with us, My one  made in Australia, by Joe Ramussen, who was a partner, in the Swiss bussines, but now is back in Aust, it is the same as the one built in Switerland, if I may so this is a awnsome phono stage, it allows loading plugs, to be insereted, in the back!!, anyway back to a suitable, cartridge!!

I have a Grado Reference Sonata 5 mv cart running through Hagerman Cornet 2 with NOS Amperex tubes. Delightful!

Has anyone gone from Grado to Dynavector ( or the other way around) ?  What are your thoughts...?

Originally had a Grado Sonata then upgraded to a Clearaudio Maestro cartridge... Very happy with that move...

Phono stage is an Arthur Loesch, (Loesch & Wiesner) with dual mono regulated tube power supplies. Phono stage has a Amperex pinch waist 6922 (Holland), RCA 6GK5 & Western Electric 417A in the gain stages...

You appear to have a great phono stage... enjoy!

Thanks Frends,
I ran a dynavector, before, the cheapeast one, with the red plastic body!!, on my old well tempered classic, 15 years ago, now that I have a Reference!!, which is new, from old stock!!, I have not set it up yet, but will in the next few weeks, I have a folder full of info, how to set up the classic, which is a different type arm, carbon fibre arm and a covered arm cup!!, any links??
I've decieded, to purchase a Dynavector 17 D 3, I believe that the output, has improved, that's O.K, as I can with my phono stage, set any loading's, via RCA plugs, there seems to be some thought's, on the loading??, on the internet?, any advice??
