Hi JohnR and all Audio Circle members.
That's not dirt, it's a protective coating.

WOW...just WOW :o
That Cameo with one mile [I bet] brings at least $75k at auction.
I saw about two dozen cars or trucks I'd love own on that inventory list.

Good thing I don't live close to Nebraska, I could get in trouble real quick at this shindig. :D
-
Wow. That's an amazing story (the first link Tom posted). haven't looked at the cars yet, but I can imagine.
But like Arthur said, it's a good thing I don't live close, for I'd be in deep trouble.

As the owner of a survivor car (my 1969 Thunderbird has just under 30K original miles and is original other than tires, shocks, fluids and belts) I get the preservation of the car.
The whole "barn fresh" thing covered in dust and left that way however, not for me.
Let's just say it is a niche within a niche!

There's more Corvairs on that list than the sum of all I have ever seen for sale. :o
Screw Ralph Nader, that's one fun car to drive. This would be a fun auction to attend! :thumb:

Yea, the ones I like are the old trucks. The amount with less than 10 miles is amazing. There must have been 15 of them.
-
Yeah, but the REAL value is based on which vehicles have great audio systems!
-
UUuhhhh.....that would be none of them.

I don't know, I remember a 1960 Oldsmobile 88 that had a pretty sweet sounding AM radio ..... once the vacuum tubes fully warmed up.

I had a 62 or 63 Impala. Added a really cool 8-track and found I could add a speaker in the middle of the back seat. Added to the dash-mounted radio speaker it gave me front-to-rear STEREO! Talk about depth of imaging!! :hyper:

Boy those were the days :thumb: I remember when i installed my first set of 6x9 POWERED speakers in the rear of my nova. 8)
Riding around in my friends tricked out 70's van, sweet.

I showed my brother-in-law the cars tonight and all he could do was to shake his head and say what a waste. David knows these cars will go very high on the auction block. But since David has re-built and customize these cars for the last 40 years, he says everyone of the interiors of these cars will be dry-rotted and will need replacing.

You had a PAIR of 6x9s? Man, you were LIVING!

Yep, not much in the way of audio in the old ones.
My T Bird has a single speaker AM radion in the front.
Mostly, the seductive sound of the big block is what I listen to in that car, but I have honestly been thinking about a portable bluetooth speaker for an iTouch as a portable solution for cruising in that car.

Bump:
Hears video of the story about the old guy that owned the Chevy dealership that amassed a collection of over 500 new and used cars?
Over 50 of which still have less that 10 miles on them, never been titled, and are 60 years old.
