It's almost ready for tape-out.  Putting the finishing touches on the design.

While your sitting with frozen ice packs along your midsection ...

What are the feature / function / upgrade difference for v5 vs. v4?

Changes to OR5:

- One discrete regulator replaced by Hynes
- HDMI I2S output
- LEDS for all sample-rates
- USB Hynes is standard
- optional HDMI Hynes
- optional S/PDIF Hynes

I am feeling better BTW.  Able to sit for a while now.

Steve, glad you are well on your way to healing. Considering your health requirements, is there a projected launch date for the OF5 (pun intended)? Any changes to Monolith? Clocks, etc.?
Take care,
Richard

I plan to have OR5 circuit boards in about 10-14 days and build the first articles by hand in the following week.  Volume builds will take another 6 weeks.

No other changes to Monolith or Turboclock.

OR5 first prototype on the bench breaking in.  Will put it in the system later today.  Photos:

Compatible with Wired for Sound DAC2, PSAudio and others.

I'll put this up against the upgraded PSAudio USB anytime.

If you plan to use this, you might think about purchasing the PSAudio HDMI I2S cable soon.  They are evidently discontinued.

Brad at Revelation Audio is evidently willing to take up the slack here.  I will be comparing his HDMI I2S cable to my PSAudio cable soon.

I am hearing good things about the Revelation USB cable BTW.

Sonore now has a server and DAC which also use I2S with the PS Audio config.

Will the Off Ramp 5 have a Firewire input option for use with computers that have that connection like the Macmini?

This would be a completely different product.  I dont believe there is demand enough to justify the development cost.  There is no advantage over USB.

BTW, first article is in a customer system getting Beta testing.  This will take a few weeks for PWD and W4S.

Any suggestions for a dedicated PC or Linux based internet music (like Pandora) player that would be a good match to use with the Off Ramp 5?  By "good match" I mean sound quality - not simply compatibility.  I already have a dedicated player (Bryston BDP-1) for externally stored music files but it is not comfortable with computer sources I like.
(I am already aware of the massive following & preferences for Mac & Amarra systems)
