Hi;
I just bought a NOS Benchmark DAC1 USB and now I am on the search for a good sounding headphone,either open or closed,preferably in the 'used' $4-600 CAN range.
I have now Equation RP-21's 32ohm,which don't sound bad,but I want to move up a couple of steps...currently looking at Shure SRH 1840's(65ohm) and Senn HD-600's(300ohm),Hifiman HE400i(35ohm)...all of which I have not heard,as no place to try out?!
I listen to mainly rock music and I like kick - drum thud bass...all round good middle and top end.
What else should I be looking at? Thanks,Huck

Just for informational purposes:

Don't believe that Benchmark DACs are NOS (non-over sampling)

Benchmark offers a bundle deal with the Sennheiser HD 650 headphones.  (If you buy their DAC/preamp, why not take their advice on headphones?)
