New & Numb
« on: 14 Jul 2017, 08:05 pm »
Was born 10 minutes ago in this DIY world....
You shall witness how a newbie selects a speaker Kit, ask a few ridiculous questions, buys and builds it.
And a writes a review....
Thank you.

Welcome, Azeem!

There are so many speaker kits available. Have you already found what you want, or are you still looking?

Thank you all. I was not expecting a single reply...
and I get a warm welcome.
Thank you.

The search is on... selecting one would not mean that
those not chosen weren't up to par, I must say.

Sometimes insanity makes more sense.

Don’t limit yourself to multi-ways, there are a large number of full-range designs, they tend to offer attributes it is hard to obtain with a system that has an XO, are typically an easier 1st project and typically cost less.

Thank you again. Everyone's so encrouging.

I have selected and  purchased a speaker system kit. It will arrive here in a few days.

I'm 7,500 miles from the great USA.

Am I allowed to mention what was selected, would it be OK? [ridiculous question #1?].

I have joined diyAudio. My quest is DIY from here on.

Regards to all.

OK,
I selected GR Research X-Statik kit.

The compleated article would look like this;

Finish shall be in Piano Silver [not matallic grey as on most automobiles], Semi-gloss black sides, lower panel in brushed Aluminum, Grill cloth will be blue.

Choosing these shall be my first with Open Baffle design, the reason for selection.

Great choice! You'll be all smiles when you're done building these.

Please post some pictures and impressions when you finish these.
