It is consensus that this HD700 has poor sound.
How many years did it take this crap lowered price?
It shows that this manufacturer is the most authoritarian
and greedy around the audio field I have see in decades IMO.

Many phones of this brand have a
minimum list price even today.
We want the HD800 for this price.

If anyones interested, I found out that if you buy from the HiFiMans website there will be a shipping charge
but I’m not sure how much. I just ordered the HiFiMan HE-400i’s for $299 and free shipping with Crutchfield.
I’ve used them in the past and they were always excellent.

This is a real good offer for a top-line can. I've auditioned these on occasion and without hesitation confirm one of the best I've heard. I understand no gear is perfect but these come close.
