dakulis,

That must have taken some time to compile.  Good job.  Thanks. The post should be made a "sticky".

That's really quite an amazing spread. The coasts are well represented, but even the midwest has enough owners around that most anyone could hear the speakers before buying.

I have the original in a Word table document and sent it to Jim but like me, I couldn't figure out a way to post it as a sticky so the Word document would appear in a "table" format and it could be updated.

So, if someone smarter than me, which includes most of you, know how to do it, pst me and I'll be happy to email the original to you.  Thanks, Dave

I think that's for omitting him from the list...

btw, for your list...I no longer have SongTowers, but do have HT-1 TL's, SongBirds, and SongSurrounds.

Big Red,

Didn't mean to omit you, I just pulled the information out of the prior Audition list and I didn't include someone unless they posted their availability and I knew exactly what they have.  You have like 400 pairs of Jim's speakers last I checked and I don't know in what combinations, LOL.

It would probably be more accurate to say that I have one of just about any Salk Speaker, and a stereo pair of the SS10's, ST domes, and HT2's.  Thanks for the hard work.

I recommend the OP removes or somehow "codes" the e-mail addresses, so spam bots don't grab them.

Paul,

The only emails that are listed were either listed in the original list or are for businesses.  So, I don't think that will be a problem.  However, if anyone wants their email removed, just let me know here and I can do that pretty easily.

Dennis the Great (and I recognize that probably isn't high enough praise), thanks, I'll make those changes.  Dave

Please include oneinthepipe's HT2-TL-based Salk/AVA system in Boston, and if he wishes, Ogogilby's HT2-TL and HT2 center-based system in Boston, of which Dennis stated was the best imaging Salk system that he had heard.

Just a quick note.  We are currently working on a web-based system designed to make it easy for people to find a potential audition.  While It is a very complicated system with a back-end database.

Those who have speakers and are willing to grant auditions will simply have to register the types of speakers they have and their location and email address.  The location and email address information will never be visible to the public.

When someone wants to find a potential audition, they simply input their location and the type of speaker they want to hear.  The system will then search the database and, behind the scenes, send an email to the closest owners who are willing to let people audition those particular speakers.

The idea is to protect the identity of the speaker owners, but allow potential customers to locate and schedule an audition.

The challenge will be populating the database with owners willing to grant auditions.  It would not be ethical for us to populate the database ourselves since we can't assume every owner will want to participate in the program.  So when we have the system completed, we will email all owners and invite them to register.  Hopefully we'll have enough interested owners to make the system work.

The system is not ready for prime time yet, but hopefully we'll have it up and running by the end of the month.  Just thought I'd mention it as it relates to the topic of this thread.

Just a quick thought.  I think this is a great service that you'll have.

If the system automatically generates an email to the potential customer and they can respond back to the owner (audition place) their identity really isn't protected.  Most peoples name shows on email.

I am willing to host an audition as well.  I currently have Song Towers, Surrounds, and the Songsub.  I am in Yakima WA.

Thanks

My mistake in not making this more clear.

The system will not generate an email to the potential customer.  It will generate an email to the speaker owner.  That email will have the email address of the person wanting the audition.  The owner can then respond directly, if desired, to the person requesting the audition.  Thus, the only way the person requesting an audition will have any contact information is if the owner decides to make contact in order to grant and set up the audition.

You should hear it now!  Greg has my dream system...well, minus the SoundScape's part.

Jim - that's a great idea.  I look forward to seeing the results.
