35F, 35CC, hiddenites

It seems to me the 35F, 35CC and the hiddenites will make a marvelous, low cost HT system. AM just wondering how they will compare to the ascend 340se. Any comments before i pull the trigger?

My main worry is the 4ohm rating's for the 35F and 35CC. The last thing i want is to have to get an amp which is too expensive.

My room is about 4m by 5m.

The other set I am considering is the RC3R, Sardonyx and SA1.

Thank you.

I used a Panny XR55 to drive the 35F and 35cc and did not notice any strain on the amp in a room that is about the same size as yours. As with any speaker better gear (Amps, Pre, DAC) will improve the sound but for movies that setup met my needs. You can always upgrade but there is not an immediate need.

While the Ascends are certainly IMO a tremendous value and an excellent choice for a low cost HT system - the Selah's are going to be much more refined sound overall and provide a lot more 'pop' in the bottom end.
