New 9B3, 4 channel or...
« on: 12 Sep 2017, 11:01 am »
Any news on the 9B3? In june it would be "about a month"...

I am considering one because I would like to go half active; high/mid passively filtered and low on its own channel.
I currently own a latest version 4B SST2. I could sell this and buy the new 9B3 and use it as a 4 channel amp, or add a 2.5B3 to the existing 4B SST2... Pricewise I don't really expect much of a difference...
James, any suggestions?

Hi

The 9B Cubed is almost done but the certification is what is holding things up.  I would say at least another 2 months.

You could add the 2.5 Cubed - is it a 2-way or a 3-way speaker?

Hi James,

It is a 3 way loudspeaker, still in development. The high/mid will be open baffle, the woofer will be closed cabinet. Since the filtering on the high/mid is basically a copy of another loudspeaker with the same units that sounds beyond excellent we have decided that we will continue to stick with this set up.

This is a project that will at least take half a year to finalize, probably more...

Wow... I just discovered that the European/Dutch version of basically anything Bryston is over 25% more expensive than it is in Canada or the US...
And distributors wonder why people go for parallel import...
