Rest to factory?
« on: 1 Sep 2017, 01:44 pm »
Question for Chris.  Is there any benefit of resetting my BDP-1/2 to factory settings then updating to the latest software?  After years of updating the software are there files that are no longer used?  Kinda like reloading an operating system on a computer to make it run faster.  Any thoughts?

It's rare that you would have to reset to factory after a firmware update. In general, once you have settings that work for you, there should not be a need to reset to factory unless you are having trouble or are directed to do so by one of us in service.

Best,

no not really, the only issue we ever had was with early releases of the TIDAL app.  Really there shouldn't be any need to perform a factory reset, i do it once and awhile but only to test a build in that state.
