Scatter plates vs perf

I'm wondering if GIK has considered developing a random-perf panel that could be used as an alternative to the scatter plate, to give 2D diffusion. This would be similar to products made by RPG (BAD panel) and Kinetics (TAD panel). Those are also more fine-grained than the scatter plate so (I believe) can be placed closer to the listener. I suppose you could call it a GAD panel. Or is there some reason that you believe the concept is lacking?

We are always coming up with new things, but for now we are sticking with it 1D. Generally in a listening room we like to scatter left to right vs left to right and up and down, due to the ceiling and floor bounce.  Thanks for the idea though.  :thumb:

Glenn,

Thanks for the reply. I can that see keeping sound off the ceiling and floor is a good idea.
